Director of Brazilian Company of Research and Industrial Innovation visited the NUTES

The coordination of the Center for Strategic Technologies in Health – NUTES of UEPB have met on Wednesday, 9, with the Director of Planning and Management of the Brazilian Company of Research and Industrial Innovation – EMBRAPII, José Luis Gordon. At the meeting, the coordinator, Misael Morais, gave a presentation on the structure of NUTES, researches currently developed and the process of expansion that involves the implementation of the Simulation Laboratory and the School Factory.

José Luis Gordon visited the NUTES accompanied by Francilene Garcia and Weruska Brasileira, General Director and Technical Director, respectively, of the Paraíba Technological Park Foundation (PaqTcPB), Cláudio Furtado, president of the Foundation for Research Support of the State of Paraíba (FAPESQ) and Maria José de Lima, Pro-Rector of Graduate UEPB.

In NUTES laboratories, the director of EMBRAPII met the research related to the certification of medical devices and additive manufacturing, involving the production of biomodels for aid to surgery, mostly performed in the Trauma Hospital in Campina Grande.

The visit of José Luis Gordon is part of the disclosure of the accreditation process of new units of EMBRAPII. “We are promoting the working model of EMBRAPII, so, institutions of Paraiba, as is the case with NUTES, which has the power, infrastructure and already works with industry, be able to participate in this public call for new units accreditation,” said Gordon.

The EMBRAPII is to support technological research institutions in selected areas of competence, for running technological research development projects for innovation in cooperation with industrial companies.
